Swarm to the Left of the Bog (2025)
Found brass rail, cicada wings, sunflower seeds, my mother’s singing
A suspended brass structure becomes a site for gathering. Small bodies, assembled from sunflower seeds and cicada wings, collect along its length and form a quiet swarm.
This encounter was staged in a gallery space with variations of it at different bogs along Turtle island. The work imagines the rail as both landing strip and lure, a place where fragile species and fragile architectures meet.
